Quality & Sustainability Director

The role leads the Quality function in China, covering team leadership, continuous improvement, industrial risk, supplier quality and sustainability initiatives.

A key responsibility is to bridge the China operation and European teams, aligning different perspectives and delivering practical solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Quality function and team in China, with ownership of major Quality matters relating to products, suppliers and operations.
  • Define and implement Quality objectives, processes, SOPs and KPIs, driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Oversee supplier and product Quality, including audits, inspections, non-conformities, corrective actions and industrial risk management.
  • Work closely with sourcing, product development, suppliers, factories, laboratories and external Quality partners to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Lead sustainability and regulatory compliance initiatives, developing and implementing practical processes and controls across the supply chain, including responsible sourcing, traceability and packaging requirements.
  • Drive organisational and process improvements to improve efficiency, accountability and ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships across China and Europe, ensuring effective communication, alignment and practical resolution of differing operational priorities.
  • Provide hands-on support for complex Quality matters, factory visits and audits when required.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or above in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related technical discipline, with a strong technical background.
  • Significant Quality leadership experience within an industrial, manufacturing or technical environment, with proven people and team management capability.
  • Strong expertise in Quality Management systems, supplier and product Quality, audits, continuous improvement and industrial risk assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing processes, SOPs and improvement initiatives within manufacturing or supply chain operations.
  • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing operations in China, with a strong understanding of Chinese business culture and ways of working.
  • Exposure to sustainability, traceability or regulatory compliance within an industrial or supply chain environment would be advantageous.
  • Automotive or mobility experience would be advantageous; candidates from other industrial, manufacturing, technical or laboratory environments will also be considered.
  • Excellent command of French and English is required; Mandarin Chinese would be a strong advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively across China and Europe.
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented, with the confidence to take ownership, make sound decisions and challenge constructively while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of at least 5 years as a Country Manager or in a similar senior management position.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Thai market, including industrial automation, solutions IT selling and related sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales and achieving business growth targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for developing and motivating teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, make strategic decisions, and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Practical experience with complex data integration from diverse OEM equipment, including OT protocols such as serial, ASCII, RS485/RS232, Modbus, Profibus, Telnet, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
  • Proficiency in LoRaWAN, MQTT, and REST communication protocols.
