Description

Our client is developing a versatile product that will be deployed in private Cloud, Customer Cloud, and on-premises setups. We are looking for a Product Quality Engineer who understands the product development process, focusing on quality, legal compliance, security, and governance.

As a Product Quality Engineer, you’ll collaborate with the Product Manager and Product Security & Governance team to create strong governance documentation. You’ll also work with the company Legal, QA, Export Compliance, and other teams to refine the product’s contracts.

Your main goal is to ensure the product is released on time while meeting high-quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

Open Source Software [OSS]

  • Develop a comprehensive OSS Checklist in alignment with OSS License Terms and Conditions.
  • Evaluate and devise action plans to mitigate the risk of OSS misuse.
  • Collaborate with the Product Security and Governance team, as well as the Development team, to maintain an inventory of OSS.
  • Engage with QA and IP teams to review OSS license terms.
  • Continuously update and monitor the use of OSS by the Development team in their day-to-day activities.

Cloud Service Agreement / License Term and Condition

  • Work closely with the Company’s legal team to review Service Agreements and License Terms & Conditions, ensuring compliance with country-specific governance standards, especially those related to data security.
  • Maintain all documentation pertaining to Cloud Service Agreements, License Terms & Conditions, and on-premises setups.

Product Quality Documents

  • Develop comprehensive product quality documentation under the guidance of the Security and Governance Manager.
  • Ensure the quality of documentation, maintaining version control and accuracy.
  • This documentation encompasses QA documents, checklists, general specifications, press releases, and more.
  • Implement a robust document numbering system for tracking, updating, and recording all documents.

Internal Audit

  • Support the Security and Governance Manager to conduct internal audits, ensuring strict adherence to security and governance protocols.
  • Establish a systematic approach to monitor and follow up on audit findings until resolution.
  • Work closely with the Architect, Project Manager, and Development team to ensure the availability of all relevant documentation, including specification documents, architecture plans, operational documents, design documents, and security documents.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in a relevant discipline with 5 years of working experience in the same capacity.
  • Possess hands-on experience in managing Product R&D Life Cycles.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Open-Source Software Term and Condition/Licensing, including familiarity with licenses such as LGPL, MIT, etc.
  • Proficient in understanding the requirements of Cloud Service Agreement Terms and Conditions.
  • Knowledgeable about Data Protection Acts, particularly in the context of cloud-related environments.
  • Familiar with export compliance regulations.
  • Well-versed in GDPR and Data Security Protection standards.
  • Proficiency in English is required, and ability to speak Japanese would be a valuable asset.
